Dear Friends and Music Lovers,
Pianists Anatoly Dokumentov and Nataliya Seliverstova would like to invite you to travel through beautiful Norwegian landscapes, to listen to Norwegian folk dances and songs, and to feel how strongly a composer can love his native country and be great, thanks to this love. Grieg’s music is nationalistic in the best sense of the word.
His piano pieces do not have intensive development, and are written in simple binary and ternary form. They are not philosophical, nor have a high level of emotional tension. But they are always beautiful, warm, humanlike, and patriotic. “How much warmness and passion in his singing-like phrases, how much originality and charming peculiarity in his crisp and witty modulations and rhythm! All are interesting, new, distinctive!” (Tchaikovsky about Grieg).
The program consists mainly of famous and well-known piano pieces, contrasting in character.
All information is on the poster…
